I have worked in the IT industry for the past 20 years, and have grown up right through the technilogical explosion of the 80's, 90's and the beginning of the 21st centuary, from the invention of the ZX80, to the first PC's, the .DOT com boom years to the social networking revolution we currently find ourselves in.

I began my career with GEC-Marconi Avionics as a Systems Programmer and quickly found my niche in the Computer Department supporting divisional VAX's running VMS and designing and implementing new and more efficient IT systems.

From there I went to work for ABN Amro Securities in London, looking after their back office systems in a high pressure dealing room.

After this, I spent a few years working as a field engineer for Syntegra and then with Reuters where I was part of a team which oversaw the preparations for the new millenium.

My first experience of working with the internet came in 2000 when I began working for the London marketing office of Active ISP, as their Systems Administrator and Web Master.

At the start of 2004, I began working for Fast Web Media (A Web Hosting/Design, SEO and PR company) and oversaw the migration of their Linux Hosting servers from a data centre in Sacremento to Manchester. In the 5 years since working for them, I have redesigned and implemented an entirely new office IT infrastructure based around NAS servers, a Linux/Samba PDC emulating a Windows Domain and a Linux mail server running Exim and Horde, project managed the move of their data centre from Manchester University to the Manchester Technopark and finally managed the transfer of their hosting services to Dedipower in Reading.

Now, I feel I can bring my wealth of experience to the market place, and continue to do what I do best - Helping individuals and companies make informed choices about IT, get the best use of IT without breaking the bank and host and design websites which are quick, clean and easy to use.
